Security forces killed two terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir (File)

Two terrorists belonging to al-Qaeda-linked Ansar Ghazwatul Hind were killed in a “chance encounter” with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, police said.
He said the terrorists identified as Fayaz Kumar and Owais Khan were involved in several attacks.
A police spokesperson said in a tweet: “Two terrorists killed in chance encounter by Anantnag Police in Thajiwara in Bijbehara area in Anantnag.”
Kashmir Police Additional Director General Vijay Kumar said the terrorists were linked to Ansar Ghazwatul Hind (AGuH).
“The terrorists killed have been identified as Fayaz Kumar and Owais Khan, who are associated with the AGuH terrorist organization. They were involved in several terrorist attacks including the attack on police personnel at Cheneywood or Srigufwara on 03- 07-2022 in which 01 police personnel Firdous Dar was seriously injured and Darashikoh Park Bijbehara on 12-08-2022 in which one policeman D Qadir was seriously injured,” Kumar tweeted.

Additionally, they were involved in a grenade attack in Badshahi Bagh on June 15, he said.
