Investigations led detectives to execute a search warrant at a home in Yatala around 7am Wednesday, where a 44-year-old man was arrested.

A 36-year-old woman was later arrested in Zillmere.

Both were known to the child.

They have since each been charged with one count of murder.

They will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday.
