A man has been charged with murder after the death of a woman in Melbourne’s outer west.
The woman’s body was discovered at a home in Melton South on Monday afternoon, with police alleging she had suffered stab wounds.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and later charged with one count of murder.
Sutherland Avenue was sectioned off by police as detectives gathered evidence and spoke to witnesses.
The pair knew each other and police are not looking for anyone else.
The man is expected to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
