Two truck crash causes shuts down two lanes of M1 Motorway during peak traffic

Heavy traffic is piling up on the M1 motorway after two lorries crashed causing major delays during rush hour.

The trucks collided around 6:20 a.m. Thursday, forcing two lanes to close near the Hawkesbury River Bridge.

Traffic remains heavy as motorists are funneled into a southbound lane.

Emergency services and Transport for NSW are on the scene.

Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and drive with caution.

Light vehicles can use the Pacific Highway to bypass the incident site.
